Who's Ferris and Why?
Hi, I'm Ferris Arley - a 1.5 generation Coptic Egyptian immigrant, born to entrepreneurial parents and 2 older sisters who are like extra moms. In Egypt my dad owned and ran an appliance repair shop, and my mom had a seamstress business. Growing up I'd to watch them work and try to help. They taught me to value resourcefulness, adaptability, and dedication - important traits that have been essential. We immigrated to Los Angeles when I was 8 to escape religious persecution and have better opportunities. My parents were forced to start over and take on new jobs, and my sisters had to immediately find work too.Like my parents, I had the entrepreneurial itch from an early age, my first venture was secretly reselling bulk candy & Livestrong bracelets in middle school until I got in trouble - teaching me the risks of operating in regulated environments.Over the past 10 years, since figuring out how to be a successful online entrepreneur so that I could get out of the minimum-wage cycle and pay for a degree, I climbed up the ladder in Tech through different roles and most recently managed and led strategic projects to boost sales and marketing in cybersecurity. This exposed me to a wide variety of industries as I had to quickly learn nuances to launch new products and sell to diverse sectors, all while talking to customers to understand their needs. Customers were always first as I value helping and solving problems.My time in Tech was rewarding, but I want to be more hands-on and impact all aspects of a business. I always knew I'd own my own business, but the Silicon Valley VC world never appealed to me. When I saw my best friend buy a window business from a retiring seller, it clicked that I could own a business by purchasing one that's already working and jumped at the opportunity. Instead of continuing down a predictable path in Tech, I stuck to my entrepreneurial roots and quit my comfortable tech role to search full-time for the right business where I can put my experience and talents to work permanently.Inspired by own parents' version of the American dream, I'm excited to write my own chapter as an honest American looking to buy an American business.I founded Dynasty Bridge to emphasize bridging this sensitive process for a seller to make sure it's easy and comfortable. Unlike private equity or a competitor who sees your business as another asset in the portfolio to milk, your company will be my sole investment and livelihood and I'll be 100% focused on your business and will dedicate the rest of my career to continuing what you started with no disruptions.I thrive with challenges, learning new things, and following the path less taken and have always been scrappy and resourceful to make things work. That's even how I figured out how to spend a year traveling to with no savings! I have a process-minded approach to obstacles and know there's always a solution. You can count on me to not let you down.I believe in the importance of small businesses powering our economy and our people. The American spirit was built on hard-working small businesses, and I can't think of anything more meaningful than to continue that legacy and honor the country, the opportunity it gave me, and be able to give back.I'm fortunate to have a support network and mentors to achieve this goal. And the support of my wife Ida Scout, a Columbus local, who's excited to help the future family business. Outside of work, we enjoy traveling, taking my car on the track, and parenting our tortoise.
